ALOŞ - ALİ TEOMAN GERMANER
Born in Istanbul, 1934, the artist entered the Istanbul State Faculty of
Fine Arts in 1949. Tutored by Rudolf Belling, Zühtü Müritoğlu and Hadi
Bara. Graduating in 1957, he went to Paris in 1960 with a scholarship
from the French Government. Between 1961 and 1965 he worked on carving
at the atelier of Ecole des Beaux Art'da René Collamarini, and engraving
at William Stanley Hayter’s
Atelier
(Atelier 17). Started working as assistant tutor at the Istanbul State
Faculty of Fine Arts in 1965. Until his retirement in February 2001, he
worked as a tutor and head of the Mimar Sinan University Sculpture
Department. Since 2004, he continues to work at his private workshop
within the Istanbul Graphic Arts Museum (IMOGA)
